Who are we?
Passionate about responsible & nutritious food, our Head & Development chef, Joe, makes sure we use the highest quality ingredients to produce restaurant quality dishes that taste like heaven.
Joe has worked at some top London restaurants, including the Michelin starred restaurant Petrus, but is now fully part of the Planty team.
We source from partners we know and trust. All our suppliers are therefore carefully selected, making sure our values are aligned. Social and environmental values are at the heart of our decision making, and therefore we make sure that we are working with partners who are doing the right things.
We are also working towards the Bcorp certification, alongside donating excess food, and we source locally where possible.
Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian or flexitarian, we wish to have you by our side and to join the movement of eating more plants!
Reducing your meat & dairy intake is one of the most powerful things you can do to reduce your impact on the planet, in terms of energy required, land usage, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions
Animal agriculture accounts for around a whopping 14.5% of the worlds global greenhouse gas emissions, the second highest source of emissions and greater than all transportation combined.
Each day, on average, a person who follows a plant-based diet saves:
- 5,000 Litresof water
- 30 square feetof forested land
- 9kgof CO2 equivalent
A plant-based diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, is a great way to achieve good health. These foods are full of fibre, protein & rich in vitamins and minerals.
Consuming just 3% less animal protein and replacing it with plant protein was associated with up to a 19% lower risk of death from any cause.Source: Harvard Health
We're not perfect, but we're doing our best
Businesses need to make money to survive - true, but we believe that businesses have much greater responsibilities than simply making cold hard cash.
We have set ourselves goals that we think take on some of these responsibilities, both social and environmental. Actions speak louder than words, so we decided to show you exactly what we have achieved and we are trying to achieve, instead of feeding you delicious marketing speil.
Our box, trays, films, and sleeves are fully recyclable alongside our wool liners which are recyclable & compostable - make sure you put all of these in the recycling bin or it will haunt you for the rest of your life. We are also using reusable food-safe coolant packs where the plastic is recyclable and the liquid contents should be disposed.
We are working towards fully recyclable coolants and we will be able to use dry ice as an alternative once we grow.
Donating Excess FoodWorking on it
The Felix Project is a wonderful UK charity which donates rescued, edible food waste - that would otherwise be thrown away - to people suffering food poverty. We have already set-up the partnership with their great team, and will start donating our excess food as soon as possible.
B Corporation CertificationWorking on it
Being a B Corporation certified business means balancing profit and purpose, meeting high standards of social and environmental performance. It will help us to be a better business by providing positive goals that we must acheive in order to retain the certification.
Carbon Neutral DeliveryWorking on it
As a company that delivers directly to you, we want to make sure that we work with the best delivery partners which share our values and have a commitment to becoming carbon neutral.
We are always looking at ways we can improve ourselves and our products, so don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any ideas. There’s no such thing as a bad idea, but if you do manage to find one, tell us about that too - we’re intrigued.
